The purpose of this course is to train individuals in the skills necessary to recognize and provide basic care for victims of illness and sudden injuries, and to recognize and provide basic care for life threatening or cardiac emergencies in adults, children, and infants. Individuals will also be trained to care for victims of sudden cardiac arrest using an automated external defibrillator (AED), until advanced medical personnel arrive and take over.

CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (Healthcare Provider)

COST: $75.00

The purpose of this training is to teach professional rescuer (those with a duty to act and provide care) the skills needed to respond appropriately to breathing and cardiac emergencies, including the use of an automated external defibrillator for victims of sudden cardiac arrest. Training includes Two Rescuer CPR and the use of a resuscitation mask and bag valve mask.

Lifeguard Training

The purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguard program is to teach participants the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to acquatic emergencies.  The course includes CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid as well.

Hours: approx 32 hrs

Prerequisites:

  • Minimum age of 15 by course completion
  • Complete Pre-test which consists of the following:

                        1. 100 yards-front crawl

                        2. 100 yards-breastroke

                        3. 100 yards-either front crawl and/or breastroke

                        4. swim 20 yards and surface dive to minimum 7 feet and retrieve 10 lbs object return to surface swim 20 yards to starting point, exit water without using ladder or steps within 1 minute and 40 seconds

Certifications: CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer valid for 1 year; First Aid valid for 3 years; Lifeguarding valid for 3 years.

**Participant MUST ATTEND ALL SESSIONS TO COMPLETE COURSE
